Find Your Laptop Model

Not sure exactly which model you have? Use the guide below for your brand.

MacBook

Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner → About This Mac. Your model name and year will be listed there.

You can also find the model identifier (e.g. A2681) printed on the underside of your laptop.

Dell

Check the bottom of your laptop for a label showing the model name (e.g. "XPS 13 9310").

Alternatively, open the Dell Support Assist app, or press Fn + ESC on some models to display system info on screen.

HP

Check the bottom of your laptop for a label with the model name and number (e.g. "Spectre x360 14").

Alternatively, open the HP Support Assistant app, or go to Settings → System → About.

Asus

Check the bottom of your laptop for a label with the model name (e.g. "ZenBook 14 UX425").

Alternatively, open the MyAsus app, which displays your exact model under device info.

Microsoft Surface

Go to Settings → System → About. Your device model (e.g. "Surface Laptop 5") will be listed under Device Specifications.

Alternatively, check the underside of your device for the model name.

Lenovo

Check the bottom of your laptop for a label with the product name (e.g. "ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11" or "Yoga Slim 7") and a machine type code such as "21HM".

Alternatively, open the Lenovo Vantage app, or go to Settings → System → About.
